Suite Refresh Unveiled at InterContinental Yokohama Grand

Business travellers heading to Yokohama can now relax in comfort after hours with the launch of the newly renovated Harbour Suite at the InterContinental Yokohama Grand.

Overseen by renowned interior architecture and design firm Wilson Associates, the design of the new Harbour Suite offers subtle nods to the hotel’s waterfront locale with simple, elegant aesthetics, nautical elements and refined architectural details. The result is a plush, cosy haven high above Yokohama’s business district.

“The InterContinental Yokohama Grand is an incredibly special property, and we are honoured to be a part of its renovation,” says Leonard Lee, Regional Creative Officer and Regional Managing Director – Asiapac at Wilson Associates. “Water is a constant source of creativity and energy for our team, and we are excited about the opportunity to infuse the fluidity of the nearby seaside into these new hospitality spaces.”

On entering the suite, guests are greeted by artwork by Hatayama Taishi, a young local artist, and custom carpets made in Osaka. Rounding out the suite’s luxe offerings are furnishings by Stellarworks that combine Japanese style with European traditions.

The new Harbour Suite is the first phase of a ongoing specialty room renovation that will be completed in 2021.
