Port Muziris Hotel Debuts in Kochi

Kochi has been an important business destination since the early European explorers set out to discover India’s Spice Route. Now, the new Port Muziris hotel pays tribute to the city’s trading past in a characterful property designed to appeal to the modern day business traveller.

Part of Tribute Portfolio’s global portfolio of design-driven independent hotels, Port Muziris captures Kochi’s spirit of discovery by giving guests the chance to delve into the city’s history, cuisine and culture.

Located just 300 metres from Cochin International Airport, the hotel is convenient for fly-in-fly-out trips, and also offers easy access to the city’s best attractions.

An intriguing art collection is a defining feature of the property. Local artists, including Vimal Chandran and Sachin Samson, were commissioned to produce artworks that reflect and reimagine Kerala’s rich history. The result are captivating artworks that tell lesser-known facts about the Kerala region, its culture and communities.

All rooms have cozy nooks to work from, along with LED TVs and complimentary high-speed wifi. Enhanced wifi is available at extra cost for video-conferencing and downloading large files.

Hotel Muziris also features a flexible 3,300 sqft banquet and meeting space decked out with state-of-the-art technology, and a range of MICE amenities, making is a great destination for all manner of corporate events. To further facilitate working on the road, the hotel also offers computers, printing and copying services, and postal functions.

Off-duty, guests will find plenty of opportunities to relax and recharge at the hotel. A range of dining options are available, including locally-inspired dishes at Lila’s Kitchen, and a diverse linup of drinks and nibbles at Kettle. For those keen to stay fit on the road, there’s also a swimming pull and fully-equipped fitness centre.

“We are thrilled to debut a Tribute Portfolio hotel in Kochi, a city driven by its rich history and passion for exploration,” said Jennifer Connell, Vice President, Brand Marketing & Management, Tribute Portfolio. “This is a city that has been an active trade hub for spices like black pepper and cardamom since 300 BC, and we’re excited to bring the city’s story to life through our values of captivating design, sincere service and vibrant social spaces.”
