SIA and COMO Shambhala Debut In-Flight Wellness Meals

Singapore Airlines (SIA) and wellness brand COMO Shambhala will debut specially curated wellness meals on SIA flights this September.

Perfect for health-conscious business travellers, the new wellness dishes are the latest initiative in the SIA-COMO Shambhala partnership, which aims to enhance travellers’ wellbeing. Each dish has been carefully designed to nourish the body by promoting digestion and circulation, and combat common travel complaints like fatigue with a range of antioxidants and micronutrients.

The new in-flight wellness menu will be available in the First Class and Business Class cabins on select flights from Singapore to Hong Kong, Frankfurt, London, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Travellers departing Singapore in First Class, Business Class or Premium Economy cabins will also be able to pre-order the wellness dishes through SIA’s “Book the Cook” service.

For its September launch, the wellness menu will include dishes like tropical fruit bircher muesli and spiced buckwheat and pumpkin pancakes for breakfast, silken chicken salad as an appetiser, and coconut poached fish for the main. Through “Book the Cook,” travellers will also be able to try dishes like puy lentil, zucchini and ricotta lasagna or red rice and fish porridge.

“We are excited to unveil the fruits of our partnership with COMO Shambhala, tapping into their award-winning expertise in holistic wellness and nutritious cuisine for our in-flight meals,” said Singapore Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Customer Service, Yeoh Phee Teik. “The introduction of these new wellness offerings underlines our commitment to the constant enhancement of our products and services to bring customers more enjoyable in-flight experiences.”

Daniel Moran, Vice President Culinary at the COMO Group adds, “This has been a fascinating project for us and we have carefully curated a menu that reflects our COMO Shambhala brand ethos and approach to food – to inspire the palate with memorable flavours. We are certain that Singapore Airlines’ valued customers will enjoy this gastronomical well-being in the air.”

As well as the new wellness dishes, the partnership between SIA and COMO Shambhala will include wellness articles that help travellers learn and practice wellbeing while travelling. Customers will be able to use the SIA app to download the articles which cover a range of topics, including meditation, breathing techniques and flight-appropriate body exercises.
