Savour Modern Cocktails at Glam in Shanghai

Glam, the new dining lounge and bar by ‘M’ Restaurant Group, located at the heart of the Shanghai’s Bund district, offers a wide range of detail-oriented concoctions for business travellers to enjoy at the end of a long day.

Glam’s experienced mixologists have created an extensive selection of modernistic and dramatically eclectic cocktails, along with perfectly executed classics. Every element is thoughtfully considered, from the collection of top-quality spirits, to hand-cut and infused ice cubes. The adventurous will love Glam’s manager David Wang’s unique infusions and bitters, including chamomile, cola, fennel, and apricot.

“We’ve created complex and compelling infusions using spirits that are darker and richer than the usual vodka base, like spiced rum and whiskey,” says David Wang. “Glam’s infused alcohols, bitters and syrups are all housemade and designed to match flavours in beguiling new ways.”

Inspired by the legendary gin and tonics of the best bars around the world, Glam’s signature Pick’n’Mix Fancy Pantsy G&T exemplifies the fun and fantastical approach to a favourite cocktail. Gin lovers can choose from some of the world’s finest gins, including Monkey 47, G’Vine Floraison and Dodd’s, paired with a choice of artisan tonic waters, such as Thomas Henry and Cherry Blossom tonic.

Other popular cocktails on Glam’s creative menu include the New Fashioned Old Fashioned, which updates the classic recipe with rosemary-infused bourbon, raisin bitters, sugar and grapefruit zest; and the Botanical Garden, a refreshingly floral concoction of London dry gin, St. Germain elderflower, basil, cucumber, chamomile, and fennel bitters.

The new dining lounge also serves a delicious array of modern gourmet plates created by Hamish Pollitt, executive chef of famous sister restaurant M on the Bund. Highlights include smoked salmon and salmon caviar; chili salt-crusted bean curd and black beans; and 18-hour lamb shoulder rogan josh. The playful ‘Folly Trolley’ is stacked with a revolving selection of desserts for a sweet end to a truly Glam evening. www.m-restaurantgroup.com
