Revamped Hotspot in Mongkok

The Place, the all-day dining offering at the Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong hotel, has debuted a brand new look after a two-month makeover, giving business travellers a new option for casual business meals, quick on-the-run snacks, coffee breaks and after-hours relaxation.

With a fresh new look in tones of light oak, herringbone and pops of lime and white, the 8,600sqft restaurant is now an airing dining space offering a range of popular buffets, a classic all-day a la carte menu, a new wellness afternoon tea, and grab-and-go options.

Guests can enjoy fresh catch at the Seafood Bar, which features freshly shucked oysters, Boston lobster, whelks, mussels, crayfish, prawns and Canadian Crab.

There are also more than 50 appetisers on offer, including Parma ham, cheese and fresh salads at the Salad and Charcuterie Island; and dim sum, barbecued meat and double boiled supreme soup from the station run by the hotel’s Michelin-starred Ming Court restaurant.

Other live stations serve up made-to-order foie gras, paella, bouillabaisse, raclette and lobster, as well as Japanese treats and Indian dishes.

The Palace’s dessert station, now doubled in size, offers a Chocolate Series of Valrhona’s single-origin chocolate from the Dominican Republic, Ecuado, Ghana, Grenada, Madagascar and Venezuela, all of which offer distinctive taste and character. The restaurant’s pastry chefs will guide guests through the chocolate tasting notes upon request. Other desserts on offer include baked Alaska, eclairs, fresh crepes, lava cakes and souffles.

A Grab and Go Fridge offers the chance for busy executives to refresh themselves between appointments – or unwind after a busy day – with a selection of boutique drinks; pure, organic juices, craft beers and wines.

For those able to spare a little time between afternoon meetings, The Place’s new wellness afternoon tea is a great way to break up a busy day while enjoying healthy freshly-squeezed juices, organic teas and sandwiches.

Seating over 200, the restaurant offers a variety of seating arrangements from comfortably upholstered benches, a slightly elevated view on a raised floor overlooking the buffet, or for those making a pit-stop before heading to an appointment, there’s a high-top with barstools along the window overlooking Langham Place Mall that is perfect for a quick bite. www.hongkong.langhamplacehotels.com
