Japan Airlines to Re-Open Renovated Sakura Lounge at Okinawa Airport

Japan Airlines will open its newly-renovated Sakura Lounge for domestic flights at Okinawa (Naha) Airport on February 28, 2017, offering business travellers enhanced pre-departure experiences.

The revamped lounge will deliver a refined environment with a modern touch, by incorporating the new design by Japanese interior designer Ryu Kosaka based on the concept of “Japan’s appearance”, akin to the airline’s domestic lounges at Sapporo (New Chitose) Airport.

The new Japan Airlines Okinawa lounge has been expanded and will be approximately 20 percent larger than the previous lounge at Okinawa Airport. In addition, the number of seats at the new-look Sakura lounge has been increased to 85 to create a relaxing and comfortable environment and to cater to an increasing number of travellers visiting the tropical island destination, which is popular with both domestic and international meeting and incentive groups.

There will be power outlets adjacent to most of the seats, as well as dedicated space for placing carry-on baggage. A security checkpoint for passengers in Japan Airlines‘ First Class and members of JMB Diamond and JGC Premier has also been set up.
