HU Bar & Lounge Opens in Shanghai

Le Royal Méridien Shanghai has opened HU Bar & Lounge, the newest nightlife destination in the city, offering business travellers a stylish spot from which to relax after a day of hectic work.

Located on the 64th, 65 th and 66 th floors of the luxurious hotel, HU Bar & Lounge consists of a penthouse-inspired event space, a classic bar and a modern nightclub, all inspired by Madame Hu, a longtime resident whose own life and family personify the old world charm as well as the new glamour of Shanghai.

The most exclusive section of the venue is the HU’s Atelier and Penthouse on the 64th floor, perfect for meetings and upscale social gatherings for up to 100 guests. Designed to reflect the chic, modern apartment in Paris where Hu lived for many years, the Atelier is a unique residential-style venue, featuring a reception area, a living room, a dining room, and a bar and kitchen.

Located on the 65th floor is a sleek bar, offering classic comforts of 1930s Shanghai as well as a wide selection of fine wines and whiskies. Local influences can be seen throughout, from the traditional touches of the classic cocktail bar to the local jazz artists that grace the stage. There is also a live open kitchen serving delicacies inspired by Shanghai’s iconic street food culture.

Business travellers can experience 21st century Shanghai’s nightlife on the 66th floor, built to represent Hu’s “wild granddaughter”. The night club boasts a central dance floor, modern booth seating, and a menu stacked with an extensive selection of Champagnes and innovative cocktails. www.leroyalmeridienshanghai.com/hubar
