Burgers for Business

The InterContinental Hong Kong’s Lobby Lounge has long been a favourite venue for casual business lunches and meetings, thanks to its spectacular panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline, and its selection of gourmet treats.

Now, the lounge is giving business travellers another reason to host business lunches here – or visit for an an after-hours treat – with the introduction of a menu of gourmet burgers and creative ice cream burgers.

The new Gourmet Burger Menu showcases a variety of internationally-inspired burger creations ranging from “The America,” “The French,” “The Mexican” and “The Asian”. Each burger is made from organic, natural, free-range or grass-fed meat, and is served with a homemade bun and natural, antibiotic-free cheese. The accompaniment – fries – are cooked in trans-fat-free high oleic canola oil.

The Gourmet Burger Menu includes:
– The America: a beef patty topped with smoked bacon, Havarti cheese and mustard sauce.
– The French: a beef patty with grilled duck foie gras, sauteed onions, smoked bacon and black truffle sauce.
– The Mexican: a beef patty finished with smoked bacon, chilli paste, jalapeno, mustard and ranch dressing.
– The Asian, which includes a beef patty with bacon, fried egg, grilled pineapple, jack cheese and teriyaki sauce.
– The Salmon Burger: pan-seared salmon fillet topped with cucumber, red onion, arugula, pickles and black truffle sauce.
– Go Green: a patty of garlic-roasted organic portobello mushroom with Stilton cheese, crispy onion and slow-cooked tomatoes.

The burger menu will be available between 1100am – 0030am in the Lobby Lounge from June 29.

The second new offering is the menu of speciality ice cream burgers by executive pastry chef Cyril Dupuis. The five ‘burgers’ are also internationally themed and consist of decadent fillings.

Ice Cream Burgers include:
– The Australia: A macadamia and blueberry ‘burger’ on a brioche bun with custard vanilla cream, blueberry jam, blueberry ice cream, macadamia ice cream, whipped vanilla cream, crumble, mango juice and fresh blueberries.
– The America: a caramel and chocolate ‘burger’ featuring custard vanilla cream, caramel salted ice cream, cookie and chocolate ice cream, whipped vanilla cream, crumble, caramelised watermelon seeds, caramel bonbons and crumbled cookies, all set on a brioche.
– The French: a decadent chocolate ‘burger’ consisting of a chocolate brioche bun filled with chocolate custard, chocolate chips, cookie and chocolate ice cream, milk chocolate mousse, brownies and dark chocolate sauce.
