AAdvantage Named Best Elite Program in 2020 Freddies

The American Airlines AAdvantage program has been named Best Elite Program in the Americas at the 2020 Freddie Awards, one of the most prestigious honors for loyalty programs in the travel industry. This year marks the ninth year the program has received this distinction.

“Thank you to all of our loyal members who voted for AAdvantage as Best Elite Program in the Freddie Awards,” says Bridget Blaise-Shamai, president of the AAdvantage program and vice president of Customer Loyalty and Insights for American. “Our constant goal is to ensure the AAdvantage program is valuable, relevant, and compelling to our members, especially as they return to travel once we emerge on the other side of the COVID-19 challenge.”

Since 1988, the Freddie Awards have recognized achievements in the travel loyalty industry in the Americas; Europe and Africa; the Middle East and Asia/Oceania.

The awards, which honour both airline and hotel loyalty programs, are based entirely on votes from travelers around the world. More than 3.6 million online votes were cast in the 2020 awards. This year’s award ceremony was conducted via online video.
