A Sea-Inspired Restaurant in Hong Kong

Perched on the tranquil shores of Repulse Bay, Hong Kong, The Ocean is the latest beachfront restaurant by Le Comptoir group that celebrates the wonders of the deep blue world. With awe-inspiring design, top notch services and delicious sea-inspired cuisine, The Ocean sets business travellers on a journey for the senses.

Offering stunning panoramic views of the sea through floor-to-ceiling windows, the restaurant’s 10,000sqft space features custom hand-blown, opaque glass lamps; comfy curving booths; built-in aquarium walls housing hundreds of jellyfish; and a standalone tank in one of the three private VIP dining rooms.

Led by acclaimed executive chef Agustin Balbi, the restaurant offers a selection of sea-inspired degustation menus. The Hokkaido scallops crudo with seasonal vegetables and curry de madras vinaigrette is a delicate display of balance in flavour and texture, while the mushroom tortellini with lobster and maitake bisque is scrumptious to the last bite.

Joining the kitchen team is renowned Japanese chef Yukio Kimijima, who serves market-fresh sushi, sashimi and an omakase menu at The Ocean’s UMI bar. Sommelier Wallace Lo, named Champion and Best Sommelier of Greater China in 2013, has also assembled an impressive collection of the world’s finest wines that pair perfectly with The Ocean’s degustation experiences. www.theocean.hk
