A New Orleans-inspired Restaurant in HK

Business travellers in Hong Kong looking for seafood indulgences should head over to Moonshine & The Po’Boys, a new New Orleans-inspired seafood restaurant in the bustling district of Wanchai.

Resembling a retro Southern saloon, the restaurant features a variety of classic Louisiana fare, such as fried chicken, po’boys (traditional submarine sandwich), seafood chowder and Cajun seafood boil. The family-style bucket comes piled high with juicy, tender shellfish, including Alaskan king crab legs and Spanish scarlet prawns, as well as local varieties of mussels, clams and other fresh, seasonal options.

Vintage keepsakes, including a pair of pastel-coloured milkshake mixers, add a dose of nostalgia to the bar area. Part froth, part booze, the shakes are served in retro milk bottles garnished with colourful paper straws. Diners can also indulge themselves in tasty fruit-based cocktails, such as the Watermelon Smash, which is served over ice in a mason jar, with chunks of fresh watermelon and sprigs of mint.

A chalkboard-style mural and picnic tables contribute to the laidback, all-American atmosphere; while the leather bar stools, rustic mason jars and a piano on the second storey lend casual touches of Southern charm. Guests can also enjoy classic blues and upbeat jazz during live music nights. www.moonshinepoboys.hk
