Beef & Liberty Opens In Lan Kwai Fong

Serving up Michelin-recommended hamburgers, Beef & Liberty has opened in Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong with a new cocktail bar and snack menu, bringing full sensory experience to business meetings.

With 4,700sqft of high-ceilinged bright space that comfortably seats up to 130 guests, a bar fully stocked with luscious libations by renowned bar manager Pawel Mikusek, a menu of gourmet bar bites by newly joined group executive chef Uwe Opocensky, and live DJ sets on Fridays and Saturdays, the city’s beloved burger restaurant has opened its newest venue on the third floor of California Tower in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong.

The new Beef & Liberty menus have been specially crafted with creative ideas and twists, such as the unique 10-item Bar Snacks menu that perfectly complements the cocktails and selection of six draught and eight bottled craft beers. Some of the bar snack favourites include chicken liver parfait with crispy shallots; and maple syrup jelly and toasted sourdough. Under chef Uwe’s expert eye, the highest quality ingredients, techniques and presentation are applied in a vibrant and casual setting.

Drinks are expertly crafted to pair with chef Uwe’s new bar-snacks menu, and highlight Beef & Liberty’s new stance in the centre of Hong Kong’s nightlife scene. With Pawel behind the bar, a major spotlight of Beef & Liberty now falls on his new range of cocktails (12 new cocktails), as well as the wide selection of international and local draught and bottled craft beers (up to 14 choices).

Signature drinks include The World Needs More Diplomats made with Diplomatico anejo rum, lime juice, cinnamon syrup, watermelon soda, chocolate bitters and cinnamon; as well as the Storm in a Teacup, made with earl grey tea, tea pot bitters, yellow chartreuse, applejack, Rebel Yell rye whisky, and Cocchi vermouth di Torino.

Beef & Liberty California Tower continues to work closely with Hong Kong’s reputed musical and events company, Mischief Productions, to bring partygoers the best DJ’s every Friday and Saturday nights from 9-11pm. Well-known DJ faces include DJ Gruv, DJ Roy Malig, and DJ James Yao.

The edgy design of the new Beef & Liberty California Tower is the work of internationally-renowned Istanbul-based multidisciplinary design studio, Autoban. The unique design approach reveals the potential of natural materials, focusing on the rustic elements of wood and bronze. The warmth of these materials is combined with sophisticated details such as breschya marble, vintage light fittings and amazing lighting that sharpens and emphasises this generous space.

“After 9 years at the Mandarin Oriental, I am extremely excited to have joined Beef & Liberty. I share their attention to detail, healthy obsession with perfecting the art of the hamburger, and strong commitment to ensuring good provenance and quality of ingredients. I’m really excited to bring my progressive cooking, experience in fine-dining and creative cuisine to focus on the hamburger and its humble accompaniments. We believe we can give our guests a dining experience like they have never had before in a hamburger restaurant,” says group executive chef Uwe Opocensky. http://www.beef-liberty.com
