AccorHotels Opens Mercure Bangkok Makkasan

AccorHotels has expanded its hotel portfolio in Thailand with the opening of the Mercure Bangkok Makkasan, offering more accommodation options for business travellers seeking comfort and convenience during their stay at the heart of the vibrant capital.

Located in Bangkok’s city centre, the 180-room hotel provides direct access to Bangkok Airport Link Makkasan station and Petchburi MRT station.

The rooms and suites, designed with train travel-inspired themes, are equipped with Smart TVs, in-room safe, minibars and rain showers, while the 25sqm Executive Rooms and 45sqm Executive Suites each features a separate living room with a complimentary minibar, an espresso machine, an iPod dock, and Bose Bluetooth speakers.

There are three floor-to-ceiling meeting rooms ranging from 50sqm to 155sqm and accommodating up to 100 guests. The hotel also features an outdoor pool, a fitness centre, an all-day-dining restaurant with live cooking stations, a wine lounge, and a pool bar.

“Mercure offers an authentic experience that is rooted in the local surroundings and Mercure Bangkok Makkasan is located in the area’s century-old railway heritage where Makkasan was the main depot for the State Railways of Thailand since 1910,” says Patrick Basset, chief operating officer of AccorHotels, Upper Southeast and Northeast Asia. “It has since become a major rapid transit hub serving the Airport Link and MRT today.”
