Turkish Airlines has created Companion Entertainment, a new mobile application for its onboard Planet entertainment platform that turns it into an interactive destination that can be used before and after flights.
Transforming the flag carrier’s inflight entertainment into a concept that can be interacted with even outside the plane, this new application will initially be available on over 100 aircraft during the first stage rollout. Companion Entertainment allows passengers to browse content on Planet before their travels, add their preferred movies, television shows, and auto to a favourites list, and then immediately access them once onboard.
In addition, passengers will be able to access and control their seatback screens via a mobile device thanks to the connectivity of the app, playing, pausing and browsing with the touch of a fingertip. This effectively turns the passenger’s mobile device into a second screen for the Planet platform.
Turkish Airlines passengers can download the “Companion Entertainment” app to their mobile devices from IOS and Android stores and then pair their mobile devices to the Planet platform during their flights to enjoy the benefits of the new app.
