Qatar to Fly A350 XWB to Three US Destinations

Qatar Airways will soon connect Asia to the US via its Doha hub, which will begin operating Airbus A350 XWB aircraft to Philadelphia, New York JFK and Boston early next year.

Qatar Airways plans to begin operating its state-of-the-art aircraft on its daily service from Doha’s Hamad International Airport to Philadelphia International Airport from January 1, 2016. Flying a long-haul service to Philadelphia, a key business destination and one of the busiest airports in the US, will enable Qatar Airways to maximise the A350’s efficiency and performance and allow its US passengers the first opportunity to try the new aircraft.

“We are very pleased to announce the launch of our first A350 service to the United States,” said Qatar Airways group CEO Akbar Al Baker. “Philadelphia is the sixth largest metropolitan area in the USA and is an important international business hub that is home to seven Fortune 1000 companies. With the launch of the new A350 service from January 1st next year, Qatar Airways will be further strengthening its position in Philadelphia and the US overall as an airline offering passengers a world-class travel experience.”

From March 1, 2016 and March 16, 2016 respectively, the A350 will also fly one daily flight to New York’s JFK airport and Boston Logan, meaning three of Qatar Airways’ US destinations will be served by the new aircraft.

Qatar Airways’ A350 offers outstanding levels of comfort with a spacious seating configuration and wider seats in both the Business and Economy cabins. The state-of-the-art aircraft feature 36 seats in Business Class in a 1-2-1 configuration, featuring 80-inch fully-flat beds, and a 247-seat capacity in Economy Class in a 3-3-3 layout. www.qatarairways.com
