ONYX Signs New Serviced Apartment in HK

Leading international hospitality provider ONYX Hospitality Group has signed a new management agreement under the serviced apartment brand Shama, to rebrand a 24-key serviced apartment in Hong Kong to Shama Midlevels, effective May 1, 2016.

The latest Shama serviced apartment is situated on 9K Kennedy Road, one of the most upscale neighbourhoods on the Island side, bringing a peaceful and quiet ambience, and a home-away-from home experience for business travellers. The property is conveniently connected to the Admiralty MTR station through a short walk to Three Pacific Place. It also offers convenient access to the central business districts of Central and Causeway Bay.

Shama Midlevels comprises 24 one-bedroom units, with intimacy and privacy made possible by its one-per-floor 60sqm apartments. Each luxuriously-appointed unit offers a greenery view, and comes with a fully equipped kitchen; an en-suite bathroom with overhead shower; and bright living and dining areas, together with state-of-the art features such as wifi, a dual laundry washer and dryer, and a high-definition satellite television with sound-bar home theatre system.

The rooftop overlooks the fabulous views of Central, Admiralty and Wanchai, whilst Shama Chill, the ground floor garden, is superbly designed for guests to chill out. The property also provides personalised housekeeping service, 24-hour security, concierge service, and Shama Wired, an area equipped with business facilities.

“Shama has a strong tie to its roots in Hong Kong,” says Tommy Lai, vice president, North Asia, ONYX Hospitality Group. “We are thrilled to expand our portfolio with the new Shama Midlevels, offering our guests another enviable living option in this vibrant city. Our booking status has already shown positive signs and met our initial expectations. As the growth of the global economy is slowing down, we see most of the relocation projects of the foreign and multinational companies tend to be mid-to-short-term ones together with an upward trend, making serviced apartments with flexible lease terms like Shama Midlevels a desirable accommodation choice for them.”

ONYX currently manages five properties throughout Hong Kong: four serviced apartments under the Shama brand, and a select-serviced hotel under the OZO brand. Earlier this year, ONYX announced the launch of Hotel 108, the first-ever Mosaic Collection property in Hong Kong, which is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of this year. www.onyx-hospitality.com
