Onyx Hospitality Signs First Hotel in Australia

Onyx Hospitality has signed agreement with Singapore-based Ascendas Hospitality Trust to manage its first property in Australia, Shama Luxe Aurora Melbourne Central, which construction is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2019.

This new serviced apartment in the Melbourne city centre will be a 252-unit property located within the iconic 92-storey mixed use Aurora Melbourne Central development.

Located on levels ten to 32, with a dedicated street level entrance, lobby and elevators, the apartments will offer facilities including a restaurant, an executive lounge, and fitness centre.

“We are thrilled to announce our first property in Australia, and at being offered the opportunity to manage the serviced apartments component of this iconic Melbourne development under our fast-growing Shama brand. We look forward to a successful and long term partnership with Ascendas Hospitality Trust as we work towards bringing the Shama brand to life in the Australian market,” says Peter Henley, president & chief executive, Onyx Hospitality Group. http://www.onyx-hospitality.com/
