ANA InterContinental Tokyo has launched 59 newly-refurbished Club InterContinental Rooms that showcase Japan’s elegant traditions, cultural heritage and national identity, in keeping with the hotel’s overall concept ‘When Tradition meets Luxury’.
Accompanying the opening of these rooms will be 26 Club Suites, are located on upper floors 32-35, offering guests an even higher level of luxury combined with the opportunity to discover and experience the glamour of the InterContinental Life.
The design concept is based around ‘Kintsugi’, a traditional Japanese technique using a special lacquer, dusted with powdered gold, silver or platinum to lovingly transform a broken object into an exquisite piece of art. The technique revitalises the fractures with seams of gold, or other precious metals, celebrating the history of each artefact and often making the repaired piece even more beautiful than the original, and making each piece unique. Interwoven with the Japanese philosophy of ‘wabi-sabi’, which means ‘to find beauty in imperfection’, Kintsugi teaches us that broken objects are not something to throw away or hide but to display with pride.

The rooms’ soft furnishings and finishes have been selected to convey a sense of calm sophistication, ensuring that spaces are not overwhelmed with unnecessary pattern or colour. A wall of clear glass visually unifies each bedroom with its ensuite bathroom, though privacy can be achieved by electrochromic glazing technology which changes the glass from clear to opaque while still allowing light to pass through. Behind the glass partitions, bathrooms are enhanced with an attractive range of accessories such as Ferragamo amenities and a spacious shower cubicle to provide guests with an outstanding shower experience.
In addition to the elegant in-room decor and thoughtful facilities, guests who stay in ANA InterContinental Tokyo’s Club InterContinental Rooms will be treated to an elevated level of hospitality and personalised service, including exclusive access to the Club InterContinental Lounge, one of the largest and most luxurious hotel lounges in Tokyo. In this elegant and refined sanctuary of social interaction, Club guests will enjoy the welcoming spirit of ‘Omotenashi’, or Japanese hospitality – a rich and beautiful aspect of Japanese culture, which is all about grace, warmth and courtesy towards others.
Comprising of a library, relaxation space, dining room and bar, Club guests can take pleasure in an expansive relaxation space, privacy, comfort and a spectacular 35th-floor view of Tokyo’s Skyline. The experience is enriched with a personalised welcome, inclusive gourmet breakfast, all-day beverages and bite-sized snacks, matched to the time of day. Complimentary high tea is served in the Club Lounge every afternoon and, in the early evening, Club guests can enjoy a range of Asian and Western canapés and tapas crafted by our Executive Chef, while bartenders serve complimentary Champagne, wines, spirits, and custom cocktails mixed with first-class flair.
