Hilton Opens in Mandalay

Hilton has expanded its global footprint opening of Hilton Mandalay, the second-largest city in Myanmar.

Facing the fabled Mandalay Hill, home to some of the city’s most beautiful pagodas and monasteries, as well as the awe-inspiring Mandalay Palace, the new Hilton hotel provides the perfect vantage point to take in some of Mandalay’s most exquisite sights.

Hilton Mandalay provides a convenient base for business travellers to the city. The new hotel offers views of the Mandalay Palace and Mandalay Hill from its 231 guest rooms, many of which have private balconies or expansive terraces. Kitchenettes are also available in several rooms.

Café Mandalay is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant offering South East Asian and local cuisines. The space has a live open kitchen and an impressive wine wall. Guests can also choose to relax at the lobby bar or unwind at the Poolside Pavilion. Bungkus, an upscale deli in the lobby, serves pastries and quick bites for travelers on the go.

The hotel also offers a swimming pool, a large jacuzzi and a fully-equipped fitness center that is open 24 hours. Complimentary bike rentals are available for guests wanting to explore nearby attractions and a golf course is situated minutes away from the hotel. Hilton’s signature spa concept, eforea spa, is scheduled to open later in the year.

“As the former royal capital of Myanmar, Mandalay is an exciting destination for business and leisure travellers alike with its bustling industry and abundance of cultural, religious, and historic attractions,” says Sean Wooden, vice president, brand management, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “We look forward to expanding our presence in this sought-after travel destination and introducing Hilton’s world-renowned hospitality to Mandalay-bound travellers.”

Hilton Mandalay joins two other award-winning hotels already in operation in Myanmar – Hilton Nay Pyi Taw and Hilton Ngapali Resort & Spa – to bring Hilton’s portfolio in the country to three.
