Four Seasons Hotel Beijing Introduces Sleep Well Program

Travelling can wreak havoc on your sleep schedule, so the Four Seasons Hotel Beijing has introduced a dedicated “Sleep Well” program to help business travellers and other guests get some quality shut-eye.

The day-long immersive program connects guests with experts and techniques that can help them achieve a great night’s sleep.

The program includes a range of activities and therapies that have been proven to help travellers sleep better, from meditation and aromatherapy to singing bowls and healthy eating. Travellers can book the program individually, or as couples or groups.

Though usually offered as a day program, the “Sleep Well” service can also be booked by individual activity, which means even time-poor business travellers who have little time to spare can benefit from the offering.

At the heart of the “Sleep Well” program are a number of offerings at the Four Seasons Hotel Beijing Spa. Ideal for jetlagged business travellers, the new 120-minute Gemology Sleep Treatment helps combat fatigue and stress. The session begins with an ambient welcome ritual that incorporates Spina Date Seed Tea and healing tuning forks, before moving onto a tension-releasing massage with heated gemstones. A Shirodhara-style treatment using coconut oil is then used on the forehead to soothe the mind and body. The full treatment relieves travel stress and tension, and prepares spagoers for a great night’s sleep. To continue the benefits of the treatment, guests will also be given after-care products which will prolong the experience.

Other activities which can be booked under the “Sleep Well” program include:

  • Morning Osho Dynamic Meditation, where guests are invited to release negative emotions and break ingrained body-mind patterns by crying, sighing or shouting.
  • The Sound of Healing, a crystal singing bowl session with Cliff Lee, master vibrational jewellery designer and clairvoyant counsellor.
  • DIY Aromatherapy Sleep Kit Tutorial where guests are introduced to the soporific effects of essential oils and given professional advice on creating a bespoke sleep kit.
  • Guided Sleep Meditation which prepares the body for deep sleep using essential oils.

Commenting on the new program, Spa Director Julia Li says: “In our time-pressured world, many of us are doing more yet sleeping less. Coupled with our over-use of electronic devices and the increasing effects of stress, our poor bodies are quite literally getting out of the habit of positive sleep patterns. ‘Sleep Well’ is our way of redressing the situation by connecting guests with local experts who can help them rediscover good sleep techniques and get their circadian rhythms back on track.”

Of course if none of that works, guests always have the choice to indulge in a sleep-inducing nightcap at the Four Seasons Hotel Beijing’s flashy bar, Equis.
