Emirates Caters to Connected Passengers

Emirates continues to make travel that little bit easier, with the introduction of 30 wireless charging trays in its first and business class lounges at Dubai International Airport.

The carrier said that the trays, which are compatible with Android, Blackberry, and with a cable, iPhone devices, are strategically located in visible locations throughout the lounges.

Each tray accommodates up to two smartphones at a time. Passengers simply place their device on the tray, and it begins to charge immediately.

“Mobile devices are an intrinsic part of our lives, and at Emirates we see free WiFi and wireless charging on the go, as becoming the norm in the future travel experience,” said the airline’s senior vice president of airport services, Mohammed Mattar. “That is why we invest to continually enhance connectivity in our lounges and onboard our aircraft. We are working with leading technology providers to launch a broader and more evolved deployment of wireless charging in our lounges and look forward to expanding this service for our customers.” www.emirates.com
