China Airlines Launches New Dynasty Sky Reading Service

China Airlines, the Taiwan-based carrier, has upgraded its in-flight entertainment offering with its “Dynasty Sky Reading” e-book service.

Travellers can now use smartphones and other personal electronic devices to download over a hundred newspapers, magazines and other publications. The “all you can read” service lets passengers access as many of the latest publications in-flight as they desire.

Innovative digital technologies are now being extended from the ground to the air as part of China Airlines’ continued optimization of epidemic prevention methods and contactless services. Dynasty Sky Reading is a reader platform integrated into the CAL mobile app. Travellers can simply log in with their membership, reservation or ticket number to establish their own personal e-library. Favourite books and publications can now be selected as desired, eliminating the burden of carrying physical copies onboard.

Over a hundred of the latest newspapers and magazines are available in Dynasty Sky Reading. Reading knows no boundaries so to meet the needs and preferences of local and international travellers, the publications are in various languages including Chinese, English, Japanese, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, and Vietnamese. The contents encompass everything from business, politics, living, leisure, arts, culture, health, sport, and fashion. The exclusive “Discover Taiwan” series was co-developed with the Tourism Bureau and promotes the beauty of Taiwan through a preview of local sights and food.

Unlimited download of all publications in Dynasty Sky Reading is open to all travellers before their journey. Business Class, Paragon and Emerald members can use the service from five days before the flight, while Premium Economy and Gold members as well as Economy Class and Dynasty flyers can start downloading from 48 and 24 hours before their flight respectively. China Airlines also thoughtfully extended the reading time to include transit and arrival times. Travellers can continue to browse the Sky Reading library for 48 hours after their arrival offering the greatest value in the industry.

In addition, SkyTeam members and travellers from partner airlines that make use of the VIP Lounge at Taoyuan and Kaohsiung airports can also enjoy the entertainment upgrade by reading books and magazines through Dynasty Sky Reading. China Airlines would like to remind travellers to launch Dynasty Sky Reading and download their favourite books or magazines before boarding to make their flight even more enjoyable.

China Airlines is continuing to provide a variety of digital services as well, including the addition of a Flysafe Information & Service section to the website for one-stop search of hotel bookings, car rentals, and hospital testing; the promotion of online check-in and self-service luggage check-in; and the use of electronic health declaration, trial run of the IATA Travel Pass and the Affinidi digital health verification.

China Airlines is also working with the authorities in Taiwan to implement the Digital Proof of Health Platform and facial recognition is now being progressively introduced at certain airports to enable self-service boarding. China Airlines continues to prepare for passenger travel in the post-COVID-19 era with the implementation of comprehensive epidemic prevention measures. China Airlines look forward to meeting with travellers once again.
