Carlson Rezidor Eyes Australasian Expansion

Carlson Rezidor has committed to increasing its Australian market share, unveiling plans for revamping existing properties and creating new ones.

Kicking off its growth plans in Australia is a redesign of the company’s Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Sydney. The first phase of this initiative will see a complete overhaul of the meeting and conference rooms, which will be unveiled in August. This will be followed by a makeover of all 346 rooms.

“Our expansion plans for Australia are backed by 17 years of experience in the region,” said Carlson Rezidor’s Asia-Pacific president, Thorsten Kirschke. “The outlook is positive, especially in Australia, where the forecast is for continued growth and where demand for rooms is projected to outstrip supply over the next three years.”

“To better position ourselves to seize the opportunities, we are growing our team to include a dedicated Australasia hotel development function based in Sydney and also introducing our full portfolio of brands including Radisson Red, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites by Carlson brands to the region.”

Carlson Rezidor is gearing up to roll out its Country Inns & Suites by Carlson brand with a focus on the regional centres of Australia and New Zealand, some of which are also major business and economic centres.

Carlson Rezidor currently operates Radisson Blu Hotel Sydney and Radison Suites Sydney, Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens Melbourne and Radisson Blu Fiji Denarau Island in Australasia. www.carlsonrezidor.com
