AirAsia to Inaugurate Flights to Vientiane

AirAsia will launch daily flights between Bangkok and Vientiane on July 1, 2016, offering a cost-effective option for corporate travellers bound for the capital city of Laos.

The Bangkok-Vientiane route is the second Thai-Laos connection following the Bangkok-Luang Prabang route, which was launched on March 24, 2016. The new service is scheduled to leave Bangkok’s Don Mueang airport at 12:05, arriving Vientiane’s Wattay airport at 13:25. The return flight will depart Vientiane at 14:15, and arrive in Bangkok at 15:35.

“AirAsia becoming the first low cost airline to connect Thailand and Lao PDR means easier and more convenient travel for all,” says Santisuk Klongchaiya, director of commercial for Thai AirAsia. “We have seen our customer base in the segment expand rapidly, both among tourists and entrepreneurs. With Vientiane being the financial center of Lao PDR and a key destination for trade, we are sure many Thai businesses will see the easier, more cost effective travel to the city as a boon. At the same time, we hope to attract many Laotian travellers to Thailand by offering them a direct route to the Kingdom.” www.airasia.com
