Air Canada to Increase Services to Brisbane

Air Canada plans to increase its new non-stop flights from Vancouver to Brisbane, Australia, from three times per week to daily in June 2016, operating a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, allowing business travellers easier access to Canada.

Flights are timed to optimize connectivity within Air Canada’s extensive North American network through the airline’s Vancouver hub. The outbound flight, AC35, will depart from Vancouver at 23:45 and arrive at Brisbane at 07:15 (plus two days); while the return leg, AC36, will leave Brisbane at 10:40 and land in Vancouver at 07:15.

The airline’s state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft features a three-class configuration, with 20 flat bed seats in business class, 21 recliner seats in premium economy, and 210 standard seats in economy.

“Customer response to our announcement of the only non-stop flights between Canada and Brisbane has been very positive, and we thank federal transport minister Marc Garneau for the revised bilateral agreement which enables us to increase our presence in this important Asia Pacific market,” says Benjamin Smith, president, passenger airlines at Air Canada. “As a result, Air Canada will boost its new Vancouver-Brisbane service to daily flights. This expanded service also underscores Vancouver International Airport’s importance and attractiveness.”

Next summer, Air Canada will also launch new international services, including Montreal-Casablanca, Montreal-Lyon, Toronto-Prague, Toronto-Budapest, Toronto-Glasgow, Toronto-London Gatwick, Toronto-Warsaw, Toronto-Seoul, Vancouver-Brisbane, and Vancouver-Dublin. www.aircanada.com
