Air Canada Expands its Global Network

Air Canada has launched direct flights between Toronto and Delhi, India, and plans to double its daily service between Vancouver and London Heathrow next summer, as well as to launch direct flights from Vancouver to Brisbane in June 2016, giving even more flying options for business travellers.

“This new service will appeal to travellers both doing business in Delhi, the capital of India and the fourth most populous urban area in the world, and to those who are visiting friends and relatives or exploring India,” says president for passenger airlines at Air Canada Benjamin Smith. “The new service also allows convenient onward connections within India and throughout Southeast Asia on our Star Alliance partner, Air India, and other interline partners.”

The service between Toronto and Delhi will initially operate four times a week and will go to daily in 2016. This route, as well as the planned flights from Vancouver to Brisbane, will be operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which  features a three-class configuration, including 30 flat bed seats in international business class, 21 seats in premium economy class, and 247 in economy.

“We [will be] the only airline to fly double daily to London next summer from Vancouver,” adds Smith. “With this, along with our new non-stop, year-round flights to Brisbane, plus increased capacity on flights from Vancouver to Sydney, with Boeing 777 aircraft that will be newly converted, featuring our new international product, Air Canada is reinforcing Vancouver as an important hub, connecting our B.C., Western Canada and U.S. routes with our South Pacific, Asian and European network.” www.aircanada.com
