Kazakhstan’s national carrier, Skytrax four-star airline Air Astana, will add Mumbai to its network from June 1, 2020.
The award-winning Almaty-based airline will fly four times a week to Mumbai’s commercial capital using an Airbus A320 with 16 seats in business class and 132 in economy. The flight time of the new service will be four hours and 30 minutes.
On Mondays and Tuesdays, Air Astana Mumbai flights will depart Almaty at 07.05 local time and arrive in Mumbai at 11.05 local time, with return service from Mumbai departing at 12.05 and arriving in Almaty at 16.55 local time. On Thursdays and Saturdays, flights will depart Almaty at 22.10 local time, with the return service from Mumbai departing at 03.10 local. An introductory promotional fare for the route is on offer until March 31, 2020, with economy class return tickets starting at US$399.
Mumbai will be Air Astana’s second destination in India, with services to the capital, Delhi having been operated since 2004.
Air Astana has the youngest fleet in Europe, with 30 western-made jets including A321 and A320 neo, Embraer 190-E2s, and with Boeing 787 Dreamliners ordered. The airline also recently launched a low-cost airline, FlyArystan.
