Air Astana Launches flights to Seoul and Tbilisi

Kazakhstan’s flag carrier, Air Astana, has launched flights between Astana, the country’s capital, and Seoul, as well as Astana and Tbilisi, Georgia.

Flights between the capital cities of Kazakhstan and South Korea are operated by Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, with 30 Business Class seats and 193 Economy Class seats once a week, and are complemented by the existing thrice-weekly service between Amaty and Seoul. The new flight is operated on a codeshare basis with Asiana Airlines.

The new service from Astana to Tbilisi is operated by an Embraer E190 aircraft which seats nine in Business Class and 88 in Economy Class. The flight operates twice a week, and is in addition to the current five times-weekly service between Amaty and Tbilisi.

“The new services from Astana to Seoul and Tbilisi mark another significant step in building the network of international flights from Kazakhstan’s capital, which fully meets the “Nurly Jol” policy proposed by Nursultan Nazarbayev, president of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” said the airline’s president, Peter Foster. “I’m confident that the new services will prove to be popular with business and financial executives.” www.airastana.com
