A Taj Hotel Opens in Mumbai

Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces has opened its luxury hotel Taj Santacruz, Mumbai in India. Strategically located just off the Western Express Highway, the new hotel offers business travellers a vantage point of access, with proximity to the city’s financial and entertainment centres.

“We are delighted to extend the legendary Taj hospitality with the opening of Taj Santacruz in Mumbai,” says Pankaj Sampat, general manager, Taj Santacruz, Mumbai. “With its distinctive design, spacious rooms and warm service, Taj Santacruz is a luxurious new addition that is symbolic of the cultural melting pot that is quintessentially Mumbai. The hotel captures the spirit of the city and offers curated experiences to its guests, deep rooted in its culture.”

Taj Santacruz’s soft references to Art Deco pay homage to the historical architecture of south Mumbai while maintaining the trademark Taj elegance. The chandeliers in the double-height lobby give a modern edge to the city’s European legacy; while the Jali-esque patterns and colours give Indian overtones to the contemporary styling. Throughout the hotel, paintings and traditional sculptures by Indian artists provide local accents to reception spaces.

The luxurious hotel comprises 279 spacious rooms and suites which are among the largest in the city, and blends contemporary elegance with touches of traditional Indian style. The Taj Club Rooms are designed to meet the specific needs of international business travellers, with 24 hour cyber butler service, high speed wifi, and private check-in service.

Taj Santacruz reflects Mumbai’s spirit and captures its essence through its exceptional dining experiences and varied culinary offerings. Local meets global at Tiqri, an expansive split-level atrium restaurant offering delicious street food from around the world and regional cuisine; while Rivea offers a refreshing take on the famed French and Italian Riviera flavours.

The hotel also offers a range of indoor and outdoor locations for business conferences and private functions. Guests can rejuvenate their senses at the beauty salon, swim a few laps in the outdoor swimming pool, and sweat a storm in the state-of-the-art fitness centre. www.tajhotels.com
