Turboprop Aircraft to Move from Changi to Seletar Airport

In an attempt to free up capacity for jet aircraft operations at Changi Airport in Singapore, the turboprop aircraft operations will shift from Changi to Seletar Airport when the new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) opens at the eastern side of Seletar in the end of 2018.

When the new PTB is ready, operations at the current PTB, located on the western side of Seletar Airport, will cease. As part of the larger Seletar Aerospace Park (SAP), the new PTB will provide business travellers with improved facilities and amenities, and support growing general aviation activities. At the same time, it will enhance Seletar Airport’s offering as a private and efficient business aviation gateway to Singapore.

“Seletar Airport will continue to be a valuable complement to Changi Airport,” says Kevin Shum, director-general, civil aviation authority of Singapore. “The new Passenger Terminal Building will enhance the capacity of the airport. It will strengthen Singapore Aviation. The new investment will also enable more opportunities to thrive in the Seletar Aerospace Park, reinforcing Singapore’s position as a vibrant aviation hub.” www.seletarairport.com
