Iberia Inaugurates Flights to Shanghai

Spanish national airline Iberia has expanded its wings to Asia for the first time, launching thrice weekly direct flights between Madrid and Shanghai, offering business travellers more conveniences when flying between the capital of Spain and the global financial centre in China.

The flight operates from Madrid to Shanghai every Tuesday, Friday and Monday, while the return flight takes off every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The new route uses a wide-bodied Airbus A330-200, which features 16 flat-beds in Business Class and 269 standard seats in Economy. All business passengers can enjoy direct access to the aisle and individual 15.4-inch touch screens for à la carte entertainment. Wifi is also available for all passengers.

Iberia has designed a special menu with a choice of Chinese and Spanish dishes. Passengers also have access to a digital library that includes books about China, travel guides to Shanghai, and travel tips. They can be downloaded to any mobile device with Iberia’s digital library app. The Spanish airline has also hired Chinese cabin and ground staff to assist Chinese passengers. www.iberia.com
