Garuda Indonesia to Launch Direct Jakarta–Moscow Flights

National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia will launch direct flights from Jakarta to Moscow in August 2017, offering business travellers better connectivity between the Indonesian and Russian capitals.

Operated by a wide-body Airbus A330-200, this route will be served three times weekly, in accordance with the potential increase in tourist traffic between the two countries.

“Realisation of the direct flight plan between Russia and Indonesia has become one of our main priorities in the effort to increase the numbers of tourists visit to Russia,” says Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Mikhail Yurievich Galuzyn. “We are optimistic with the direct connectivity between Jakarta-Moscow will provide a promising opportunity not only for the tourism sector, but economic, social, and cultural.”

In addition to Moscow, Garuda Indonesia will also launch Jakarta-Los Angeles via Tokyo, in the middle of this year.

While expanding its international flight network, the airline has joined the SkyTeam alliance three years ago, allowing Garuda Indonesia‘s passengers to enjoy flight network services to more than 1062 destinations across 177 countries.
