CX to Offer More Redemption Seats

Cathay Pacific is gearing up to offer members of its Marco Polo Club loyalty programme access to more rendemption bookings.

The Hong Kong-based carrier is a member of oneworld, and currently allocates a generous number of seats to other oneworld carriers and airline partners.

However, the airline is looking to prioritise its own loyalty programme by cutting the number of redemption seats available to other airlines, and instead making them available to members of the Marco Polo Club.

“We are pleased that the Marco Polo Club is seen as one of the world’s leading airline loyalty programmes, but we believe that there are actions we can take to ensure that it continues to be a rewarding travel experience for our members, said a Cathay spokeswoman.

This would be a welcome move by the airline, whose redemption seats are often limited and difficult to book. www.cathaypacific.com
