Xiamen Airlines Heads to Europe

Xiamen Airlines has begun operating to Europe with the launch of its thrice-weekly service to Amsterdam.

The Xiamen-Amsterdam service is the airline’s first foray into the European market.

Outgoing flight MF811 departs Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport at 2350 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and touches down at Amsterdam Schiphol at 0545 the next morning; the return leg, flight MF812, leaves Amsterdam at 1235 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, landing in Xiamen at 0530 the next day.

The new service is operated on the airline’s B787, which holds 327 seats in three classes. The first class cabin features just four seats in a 1-2-1 configuration; the 18 seats in business class are arranged in a 2-2-2 layout; while the 215 economy seats are in the standard 3-3-3 arrangement.

Along with the launch of its European operations, Xiamen Airlines has started codeshare services with fellow Skyteam member KLM. With these codeshare flights, passengers travelling from Xiamen can now access Europe’s most important business centres- including London, Manchester, Rome, Venice, Florence, Madrid, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Zurich, Brussels, Stockholm and Vienna, through a stopover in Amsterdam. www.xiamenair.com
