Tigerair Opens New Direct Route

Budget airline Tigerair has launched direct flights between Singapore and the coastal city of Quanzhou in China’s Fujian province, which operate three times per week, every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

“Tigerair is constantly looking for opportunities to provide travellers with greater choices and connectivity,” says Tigerair’s CEO Lee Lik Hsin. “Operating direct flights to Quanzhou is an example of how we establish or improve air links between Singapore and other cities. We are delighted to be strengthening our network in China, where we see tremendous opportunities.”

Located within an 1.5-hour drive from Xiamen and a 2.5-hour drive from Fuzhou, Quanzhou is a major manufacturing hub for textile, apparel and petrochemicals. Due to its strategic location at the start of Maritime Silk Road, the city is expected to see growth under China’s One Belt One Road initiative. www.tigerair.com
