Suite Dreams

Having completing the first phase of its extensive US$30 million facelift in September, The Langham Hong Kong has unveiled two new stylish signature suites, opulent spaces perfectly suited to  corporate warriors visiting the Fragrant Harbour. Designed by award-winning firm G.A. Design, each individually-designed signature suite features a distinctive look and feel that has helped propel the Langham Hong Kong to the forefront of the city’s luxury scene.

“We are proud to introduce two new signature suites, the Penthouse Suite and Director Suite. Only one of each kind, these suites provide luxury at its finest,” says Langham managing director Bob van den Oord. “Both suites have personalities of their own, reflecting elements in which the hotel is located.”

Surrounded by luxury designer stores, the 125-square metre Penthouse Suite recalls the fashion houses in Europe. The opulent two-bedroom suite features soft colour tones of cream, silver and touches of red-violet, incorporating a living room with a decorative fireplace and a dining room that can accommodate up to six people. Styled with hand-crafted furniture that boast meticulous pleating and silk upholstery, the Penthouse Suite is embellished with one-of-a-kind art pieces, diamond-cut mirror panelling, crystal chandeliers and lifestyle furnishings. In addition to a decadently-appointed master bedroom, the Penthouse Suite also encompasses two Italian marble bathrooms, making it ideal for intimate meetings or corporate gatherings.

The design journey for the 89-square metre Director Suite was initially influenced by Hong Kong’s nearby Avenue of Stars. Exuding warmer colours of black, grey and sepia, this spacious one-bedroom suite harmoniously blends Asian elements while still expressing its own artistic individuality. Featuring jewel accents and polished veneer, finished with high gloss, nickel, Lucite and glass, the entrance sets the stage with monochromatic mirror walls that lead to the sumptuous living room. Discerning travellers can watch a film on an oversized 46-inch high-definition smart television, enjoy reading a vintage book from the extensive library collection, or conduct business at the custom-made work desk, complete with vintage-esque director’s chair. Adjacent to the living room is the dining room where up to six guests can be seated for intimate parties or private dinners. The Director Suite’s luxurious main bathroom and separate guest bathroom are dressed in imported white and gold marble, the former featuring an oversized bath and rain shower.

Guests staying in the signature suites also benefit from a raft of other amenities, including access to the Langham Club lounge, arguably the most beautiful executive lounge in the city, as well as a personal Guest Experience Manager and a dedicated Shopping Butler for those last minute retail jaunts.

Later this year, the hotel will begin the second phase of its transformation with additional room refurbishment, including one more signature suite. www.langhamhotels.com
