Qatar Launches Doha-Dubai Shuttle

Qatar Airways has launched what is believed to be the first ever air shuttle service in the Gulf region.

The Doha-based carrier is now offering 18 daily flights between Doha and both of Dubai’s airports. of the flights, 14 served Dubai’s main international airport, while the remainder use Dubai’s newer Al Maktoum international terminal.

To facilitate the shuttle service, Qatar is created special check-in areas at Doha airport, and developing faster immigration services.

To welcome the launch of its shuttle flights, members of Qatar’s loyalty programme will earn double Qmiles when travelling on these flights until July 31, 2015.

Although the new services will primarily benefit passengers travelling specifically between these two cities, they will also make the transfer process easier for Dubai-based travellers on Qatar’s long-haul flights that run via Dubai.

“The Doha-Dubai shuttle caters to the needs of both business and leisure travellers and provides them with a more convenient and time-saving option when travelling between the two cities,” said Qatar Airways group CEO Akbar al-Baker. “We are very excited to offer our passengers this fantastic new service that shows our passengers how much we appreciate them and value their time.” www.qatarairways.com
