Qatar Introduces New US Routes

Qatar Airways has announced that it will expand its network to to the US by introducing three new routes in early 2016.

The first of the new routes will be Doha-Los Angeles, and is set to begin from January 1, 2016. Flight QR739 will leave Doha at 0745, arriving at LAX at 1310; the return service, QR740, will take off from LAX at 1510, reaching Doha at 1810 the following evening. At 8,300 miles and 16 hours and 25 minutes each way, this is set to be Qatar’s longest service.

The new route will be flown on a Boeing B777-200LR aircraft in a two-class configuration that features 42 seats in business class and 217 in economy.

Launching on March 16, 2016, the second new route will be to Boston, and will be served by one of Qatar’s new A350 aircraft. This plane boasts a 1-2-1 configuration in business class, and offers superior seating with direct aisle access and increased privacy.

The daily service, flight QR743, will depart Doha at 820 and arrive in Boston at 1430; the return service, AR744, will leave Boston at 2255, landing in Doha at 1810 the next day.

Finally, the last new addition to the network is a Doha-Atlanta service. This route is scheduled to start in July 2016, although further details have yet to be announced.
