Qantas Partners with PressReader In-flight

Australian national carrier Qantas has teamed up with PressReader, the world’s largest newspaper and magazine platform, to offer passengers thousands of publications via the airline’s innovative app. Some of the 4,000 titles available as part of the new service include The Washington Post and Vogue Italia through to Australian metropolitan and regional publications. Magazines and papers from over 100 countries will be dowloadable in over 60 languages.

“Many people use flights as a way to catch up with their reading, so this new service opens up a huge library of titles for people to choose from before they take off,” says Qantas group executive brand, marketing and corporate affairs Olivia Wirth. “We built PressReader into the existing Qantas app to make it easier for customers to manage all parts of the journey through the one application.”

The introduction of digital magazines and newspapers to Qantas’ suite of entertainment offerings also forms part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to improving its environmental credentials. Qantas also recently implemented a new and improved inflight entertainment program giving customers more choice and variety with more regular and in-depth news coverage. This included doubling the number of new-release blockbusters and adding more virtual box sets of popular TV series. www.qantas.com.au
