Lufthansa Sweeps World Airline Awards

Lufthansa Group airlines have swept the World Airline Awards, held at the Paris Airshow at the Le Bourget airport, taking home five honours for onboard and ground service.

Austrian Airlines won accolades for its service on the ground and in the air, and won the “Best Airline Staff in Europe,” as well as the “Best Business Class Onbaord Catering” categories for its award-winning menus from DO&CO, Vienna coffee house service, and inflight chefs that make up the long-haul business class culinary product.

Lufthansa itself won three awards, taking top honours for “Best Airline Transatlantic,” “World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge” and “Best Airline in Western Europe.”

Lufthansa is currently overhauling its 100-strong long-haul fleet so that passengers can experience the airline’s exclusive First Class, new Business Class and Premium Economy Class cabins, as well as its broadband internet service, FlyNet. www.lufthansa.com
