Lufthansa Rolling Out Premium Economy

German carrier Lufthansa has installed premium economy cabins on half of its long-haul fleet, with the product to be rolled out across remaining aircraft.

Currently, the new cabins account for approximately 2,000 seats across 53 planes.

All of the airline’s B747-8 and A380 planes have been retrofitted with the new product, while the A330-330, A340-300, A340-600 and B747-400 aircraft are due to be fitted with the new premium economy cabins over the following months.

This means that Lufthansa’s premium economy product will be installed across all 105 of the airline’s long-haul aircraft by October, and will also be installed on all new planes.

The new cabins have already debuted on flights to New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Sao Paolo, Beijing, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Lufthansa’s premium economy cabin will feature between 21 and 52 seats, a seat pitch of 38-inches and width of 18 or 19 inches, depending on the aircraft type. www.lufthansa.com
