Lufthansa Adds A380 between Hong Kong & Frankfurt

Lufthansa has introduced a new A380 service between Hong Kong and Frankfurt, adding to its existing daily services. Using the world’s largest passenger jet, the Lufthansa A380 will accommodate a total of 509 passengers, and is configured with eight seats in first class, 78 in business class, 52 in premium economy class, and 371 in economy.

Outbound service LH797 departs daily from Hong Kong to Frankfurt at 23:10, and arrives at 05:30 the next day; while the return leg LH796 leaves Frankfurt at 22:15 and lands in Hong Kong at 16:55 the following day.

“At Lufthansa, we aim to offer passengers a superior flight experience that combines the convenient schedule with night flights to and from Germany, comfort, and the best in German hospitality,” says Malte Haut, Lufthansa general manager Hong Kong, South China and Macau. “The deployment of the A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft, together with our newest cabin products for all classes, demonstrates our commitment to offering our Hong Kong customers a true 21st century travel experience and furthers our goal of becoming the first five-star airline in the western hemisphere.”

The business class offers fully adjustable seats that can be transformed into a comfortable bed with a horizontal reclining area of 1.98 metres in length. The premium economy cabin at the front of the aircraft boasts spacious seats which have a 38-inch pitch and 18.2-inch width, and each has its own, broad armrest to allow for greater privacy.

Together with Swiss International Air Lines and Austrian Airlines, the Lufthansa Group currently operates 72 flights a week from six Chinese destinations to Europe. From the 2016 summer schedules onwards, Swiss will deploy its new Boeing 777-300ERs on its route between Hong Kong and Zurich. www.lufthansa.com
