Korean Air Boosts Capacity for Seoul-Sydney Service

Korean Air will put its Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER on the Seoul-Sydney route during the peak southern summer season.

From October 26 through December 1, Korean Air will operate a Boeing 777 aircraft on flights KE121/122, replacing the current Airbus A330. The bigger aircraft will add 38 extra flat-bed business class seats on each flight.

From December 2 through March 27, 2016, Korean Air will operate its superjumbo A380 on the route to accommodate for higher demands over the Australian summer season. The aircraft will deliver a nearly 50 percent capacity boost compared to the regular A330, boasting a total of 407 seats over first class, business class and economy.

The A380 features 12 first class ‘Kosmo’ suites; 94 seats in business class, configured in a 2-2-2 layout; and 301 seats in economy.

Travellers will also enjoy two onboard lounges; the aircraft features a smaller space at the front, and a spacious Celestial Lounge on the upper deck. The Celestial Route offers a range of snacks and drinks, including six Absolut vodka cocktails.

KE121 departs Seoul at 7pm, arriving in Sydney at 7am the next morning; the return flight, KE122, departs Sydney at 9am and arrives in Seoul at 1740 that afternoon. www.koreanair.com
