Hotel Jen Tanglin Opens in Singapore

Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore, formerly Traders Hotel, by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has opened at the top of Orchard Road after an extensive S$45 million (US$32 million) renovation, offering corporate travellers a stylish, comfy stay and energetic hospitality in the Lion city.

The hotel’s 565 rooms have been split into four contemporary Singapore-themed wallpaper designs, which include bicycle, orchid, goldfish, and shop house. Each room features free Wi-Fi, USB outlets, a high pressure walk-in shower, and a king-sized “floating” bed with 300-thread count linens. Executive suites also include a pull-out sofa bed, a small pantry, a microwave, and a Smeg fridge.

“I love the energy at the new hotel,” says general manager of Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore Clifford Weiner. “Our hotel offers a lot of value for travellers who appreciate the ingenious details, stylish and comfy rooms, enthusiastic and upbeat staff, convenience and accessibility, all delivered fuss free. We hope to give guests an authentic Singapore experience and deliver it with an inspired zest!”

Authentic South-East Asian cuisine will be showcased in the J65, a new restaurant with a local farmer’s market look and feel. The lobby also houses the Jen’s Kitchen On-the-Go, a café and snack bar offering Singapore’s finest artisan products, such as locally roasted coffee. There is also a Club Lounge located on the 17th floor, with open views of the nearby residential neighbourhood. www.hoteljen.com
