Hong Kong Airlines to Offer Taiwanese Cuisine

Hong Kong has partnered with Shin Yeh Restaurant Group, an award-winning dining group in Taiwan for nearly 40 years, to offer a variety of delicious Taiwanese cuisine to its business class passengers flying between Taipei and Hong Kong, starting from April 1, 2016.

In addition to the familiar dishes such as rice vermicelli fried with pumpkins, mushrooms and shredded pork; karasumi egg fried rice with mixed vegetables; Taiwanese rice tube pudding with minced pork and dried shrimps; and Taiwanese turnip cake, the new Taipei – Hong Kong business class menu also includes a range of unique Shin Yeh signature dishes. Highlights include sautéed beef fillet with Sinyeh X.O. sauce; deep fried snapper in sweet and sour sauce; Taiwanese Shinyeh braised pork belly with seaweed and chestnuts; and Taiwanese traditional steamed minced pork with salted egg yolks.

“Hong Kong Airlines cares about its customers and their travel experience,” says director of service delivery department Stanley Kan. “We offer wholehearted services from the beginning of the journey and place emphasis on the quality of our inflight meals. We aim high on delivering a delicious culinary flight experience by bringing the true flavours to the sky.”

A total of eight Taiwanese dishes will be introduced in phases from April 1, 2016, offering two new meals every two weeks. www.hongkongairlines.com
