Dusit Enters Shanghai

Dusit Fudu Hotels and Resorts, the Chinese joint venture hotel management company from Bangkok-based Dusit International, will unveil two new hotel projects in the Chinese financial capital of Shanghai.

In partnership with the Mingyuan Group, Dusit Fudu will bring a Dusit Thani hotel and a Dusit Princess serviced residence to the Shanghai market.

The deluxe Dusit Thani Hotel, Shanghai Zhabei will offer 215 guest rooms and suites as well as a well-appointed conference centre. Situated near the Life Hub @ Daning business and lifestyle complex, the new hotel will also offer two restaurants and a Lobby Lounge that are ideal for casual business meetings, and a rooftop swimming pool and bar for after-hours relaxation.

The hotel’s location in the up-and-coming commercial centre of Zhabei District puts the hotel within easy reach of Pudong International Airport, Hongquiao Airport and a high-speed train transportation hub. The Dusit Thani Hotel, Shanghai Zhabei is slated to open in early 2019.

The second project, the Dusit Princess Serviced Residence, Shanghai Xuhui, is scheduled to open in summer 2016. The property is conveniently located in Xuhui District, a prime commercial precinct which is also home to the headquarters of many international companies. The Residence will offer 112 apartments ranging from 36 to 78sqm, along with an all-day dining restaurant, an indoor swimming pool and a health club.

“We are thrilled to manage two properties in Shanghai, this being the largest city in China and a globally significant financial capital,” said Dusit Fudu Hotels & Resorts president Lim Boon Kwee. “Dusit Fudu was created to bring the hallmark gracious Thai hospitality pioneered by Dusit over 65 years ago to the Chinese market. As we have grown to cover 15 cities throughout the country, we are proud to have not one, but two projects in Shanghai to demonstrate the significance of the Dusit brand on a growing scale.

“We believe that Dusit Fudu’s dynamic team of industry experts will provide the support necessary for the long-term success of our two hotel projects,” added Mingyuan Group chairman Li Song Jian. “We look forward to an excellent future as part of Dusit and are excited to be the first to bring this iconic Thai brand to Shanghai.” www.dusit.com
