China Southern Airlines plans to launch a thrice-weekly direct service between Guangzhou and Adelaide from December 2016, offering business travellers more conveniences when flying to the capital city of the state of South Australia.
Operating with a three-class Airbus A330 aircraft, the Guangzhou-Adelaide route will be the first direct connection between mainland China and the Australian city. The outbound flight will depart Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10pm and arrive in Adelaide at 9.30am the next day, while the return flight will leave Adelaide at 11am and land in Guangzhou at 5.40pm.
“This presents a huge opportunity for Adelaide with the Chinese market,” says Damien Kitto, CEO, Adelaide Convention Bureau. “The direct flights by China Southern Airlines, along with flights from Asia by Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Cathay Pacific further increase our opportunities within the Asian market and China in particular.” www.csair.com
