Cathay Ups SFO Services

Cathay Pacific has enhanced services between its Hong Kong base and San Francisco by adding three new weekly services, bringing the total number of direct flights between the two cities to 17 per week.

San Francisco was the first US destination that Cathay flew non-stop to, beginning in 1986. A popular route, especially for business travellers, the Hong Kong-San Francisco route is one of the airline’s most popular.

The new flights will see CX892 depart Hong Kong at 1845 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in San Francisco at 1630; the return leg, CX893, departs Hong Kong at 0130 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and lands in Hong Kong at 0645 the next morning.

All Cathay flights to San Francisco are operated on B777-300ER aircraft; the services offer a three-class configuration on flights during the week, while during the weekend, the service features a four-cabin configuration that includes First Class.

“Our addition of three weekly direct flights from San Francisco to Hong Kong illustrates the commitment we have to further expanding connectivity for the North American market as well as better serving the growing demand in the wider San Francisco Bay Area,” said Cathay’s senior vice president for the Americas, Tom Owen. www.cathaypacific.com
