Cathay Opens Revamped Bangkok Lounge

Cathay Pacific has opened its revamped lounge at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Located on the third floor of the airport’s Concourse G Departure Hall, the lounge was closed in mid-November last year to undergo an extensive facelift. The revamped lounge now features a new design persona in line with that of the airline’s latest lounges at Tokyoa Haneda and Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The expanded lounge now occupies a space of 679sqm, which is significantly larger than previously; the space can seat some 140 passengers.

Like the new lounges in Tokyo and Manila, the the makeover of the Bangkok facility was helmed by London-based Studioilse, and incorporates warm, neutral materials like wood and stone.

The lounge also features Cathay’s signature Noodle Bar, with its wonton noodle soup. Before 11 am, guests can also enjoy an authentic Thai breakfast. The main buffet selection, on offer at the Food Bar, includes lighter options such as salads, pastries and desserts, while the bar offers freshly made cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.

The main seating area at the renovated lounge has been created to feel like a living room, with plenty of natural light and views of the airport runway, and abundant seating with charging stations.

For busy executives who need to do a bit of work before getting on the plane, the lounge also has three iMacs running dual operating systems in The Bureau, while complimentary WiFi is available throughout the space. www.cathaypacific.com
