Business Class of the Future

Business travellers may soon be able to enjoy a better working environment in the air, with the innovative new business class suite developed by B/E Aerospace that’s set to be launched in 2016.

Called the Breakout, the new suite has been developed specifically for Boeing 777 aircraft, but is also suitable for other long-range twin-aisle jets such as the Airbus A350 and A380.

The new suite offers a ‘corner office’-like space that includes a large workspace fitted with AC power and USB sockets, and a built-in seat that swings out from under the desk.

When not working, passengers enjoy a comfortable angled lounge seat when they’re awake; for catching a bit of shut-eye, the wide seat flips up and out of the way to make room for a fully-flat bed that folds out from the suite’s side wall.

Other features of the suite include ample stowage; and an ottoman which can be used as a footrest, or an extra suite for when your travelling companion joins you for a chat.

“We set out to remove the compromise of using a seat for every travel function,” said the director of B/E Aerospace’s Advanced Design Group, Glenn Johnson. “We created a true working and dining position in addition to creating a proper sleeping area.” www.beaerospace.com
